Adorable Snowflakes and Buttons

I love this new design from Michelle Oatman's blog created for the High Hopes Challenge titled "Snowflakes and Buttons". First, it's the design and colors, second, the way she used the new "Snowflakes" Winter Card Making Papers is just gorgeous! Designers amaze me, how Michelle brought together these separate pieces so quickly and made such a wonderful image is wonderful:)

The blue buttons and ribbon with the way she used the papers are perfect. Using both for the main Christmas red background and then used the light blue star patterned paper as a border with the dark blue paper similar to the buttons as well as the gray edge of the card. And then, tying it all together with the blue gray ribbon.

I especially like the way she reversed the color of the snow patterned papers on the inside. Putting the red stripe of paper on the light blue is perfect!

Thanks Michelle!

Beautiful Card Designs

First, our thoughts and prayers for anyone affected by the storm, we will be watching and thinking of you. Hope you all our safe! We have been fortunate here where we have had only cold winds and some rain.
I wanted to post a couple very sweet designs by my friends Kittie Caracciolo and Michelle Oatman:)
They are wonderful designers and friends and have created 2 beautiful designs using our new Winter Card Making Papers. I can't say enough how much I appreciate these beautiful designs.

Here is Kittie's stylish and festive which she made adding a beautiful paper poinsettia.  She has a great description on creating the card as well as a wonderful tutorial on how to make the Poinsettia and Pine on her blog at http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/.

Next is just such a sweet card design by Michelle Oatman. Hers uses a High Hopes Stamp and is wonderfully colored using Copics Markers with the Winter papers. Michelle has a wonderful blog describing how she made the card and as always extras, such as her antiques and animals that are always fun to see:)

Hope you like these as much as I have!

First Video Demo!

Hey everybody! Over the weekend I worked on my first video tutorial and posted it on my facebook page on how I paint with water color pencils. I painted one of my Stampavie Winter Collection stamps and made an ornament out of it. It was sooo much fun! It's not perfect- out of focus and very looong. But hope you'll check it out anyway. You may have to squint your eyes some and fast forward a little, LOL. It's not about having it all right the first time, it's a journey and learning as I go.

Not sure if any of you know this, but I work alongside my husband Mike. He's a graphic designer and he's the one who takes my artwork and turns it into something that someone can actually use. Also, he is a very talented artist himself. He sits silently in the wings allowing me to get all the credit. Mike inspired the filming and edited the video for me. An amazing jack' of all trades, Mike is not afraid to try something new.
I love video how-to's because "we" creative people are visual learners- we learn with our eyes and our fingers. My very best teachers were the ones who actually sat down and took the time to demonstrate.

Can't wait to work on some other projects and to share more of the fun things I have learned with you:)
